Literature Text

Pieces of smashed dream decorate the sea
Where your salt tears lick the shore
Of rose petal paths where you met me
(but roses, my dear, have thorns galore)

And one day those waves will dry away
But I won't be the one holding your fragile origami hands
As dreams once shattered somehow find a way
To recover their shipwrecked plans.

You will be stabbed in the back again and again
By those brittle thorns on your red, red roses
And scars left will ignite a path through the pain
To lead to the door where your snowflake mind closes.

And I will be ashamed, happy, but ashamed
To leave you in such a battle scarred place
Even though your rivers of tears are perfectly framed
On the mask of flittering emotions that you call a face.

And maybe, just maybe with time you will see
That salt water tears and those roses brittle thorns
Are items that can evaporate and cease to be
For they truly are things that nobody mourns.
Just gotten back from a HUGE camping trip, totally exhausted and in the need of some words (thank you dA!) then thought I would add a few of my own.

I tried something a little more… abstract on this one, so feel free to fire some feedback my way (along with a few title suggestions, maybe?) :D Thanks!

This is beautiful, you piece the poem together so well it's almost as if you can see it, like a lucid dream.

For the poem to flow better why don't you change "shattered dream" to "shattered dreams" . And for the last few lines changed to "those salt water tears".

That's just me though, but seriously other than that it was incredible.
